About Trailside
Built around doing things right.
We take on the repairs, installations, improvements, and custom projects that come with owning a home—with a practical approach, attention to detail, and the belief that even the small jobs are worth doing well.
I'm the owner of Trailside Homeworks.
I’ve always been a builder at heart—the kind of person who wants to understand how something works, figure out why it doesn’t, and find a way to make it better.
For nearly two decades, my work has revolved around building things and making things happen. My background in the furniture industry gave me years of experience with materials, construction, problem-solving, project planning, and the countless details that separate a good idea from a finished product. Along the way, I also learned how much good communication, organization, and follow-through matter—especially when you’re doing work for someone else.
But being hands-on has never stopped when the workday ended. I’ve renovated and improved homes, built furniture and countless projects, and taken on bigger ideas simply because I wanted to see if I could make them happen—including building a cabin and a treehouse from the ground up.

I’ve accumulated more tools than any reasonable person probably needs, and I’ve rarely met a project I wasn’t curious enough to figure out.

Trailside Homeworks grew naturally out of all of that: a way to put the experience, problem-solving, and satisfaction I get from building and fixing things to work for the people around me.
Hi, I'm Robert.
Why Trailside?
There’s an interesting gap in home improvement. Especially in Medford Lakes and the surrounding communities.
You have projects that are beyond what you want to tackle yourself—but calling a large contractor doesn't make much sense either.

A door that won't close right. A handful of repairs that have accumulated. New fixtures that need installing. Some finish carpentry. An outdoor project. Or an idea that requires someone willing to look at it, think about it, and figure out a good way to make it happen.

That's where Trailside fits.

The goal is simple: be a reliable local resource for taking care of the things around your home.
Close to Home.
Trailside Homeworks is based in Medford Lakes, and that local connection is an important part of who we are.
We believe in doing business personally—getting to know the people we work with, communicating clearly, and doing work we're proud to put our name on.

Medford Lakes is home, but our work takes us throughout the surrounding communities. Wherever the project is, the approach stays the same: show up, do good work, take care of the details, and treat every home with the same respect we'd want for our own.

We're here to be the local resource you can call when something needs fixing, improving, building, or figuring out—and the one you're comfortable calling again when the next thing comes along.
We stand behind our work.
We care about the work we leave behind and the people we do it for.

If something doesn't seem right after we've finished a project, let us know. We'll come back, take a look, and do our best to make it right.

No complicated promises or fine print. Just the way we believe a local business should treat its customers.
